For season Fifteen the Aeolus Quartet will be in-residence with us for five days in February, 2024. This impactful time will focus on the greater Chattanooga area for a week filled with educational and community engagement.
Dedicated to sharing the joy of chamber music with new audiences, the Aeolus Quartet has been widely recognized for their highly creative and engaging educational programs. The Quartet has received the Educator Award presented by the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association in acknowledgment of the positive impact of their educational efforts in underserved communities. Additionally, the Quartet was awarded the John Lad Prize, which culminated in a residency involving large-scale community engagement work, masterclasses, and performances at Stanford University.
Through their multiple residencies with the Chamber Music Society of Detroit alone, the Aeolus Quartet has reached over 18,000 students in the greater Detroit metro area. String Theory is so excited to bring these extremely gifted educators and talented artists to our local community! This residency week’s activities will include: school presentations, visits to our local nonprofit partners, retirement communities, and additional community spaces.
